Personal Ministry Team Guideline

Come prepared physically and spiritually for personal ministry.

• Allow people to respond to the Word and/or invitation first by coming forward, then come up asking the Holy Spirit to lead you to whom he would have you go to.

• As a general rule: men with men, women with women, or in pairs.

• Your role is to come alongside what the Holy Spirit is already doing in them.

• Feel free to communicate with them regarding their need.

• Listen, listen, listen to the Holy Spirit – then obey, obey, obey!

• Look for ways to strengthen, encourage and comfort.

• When you share something with someone that you believe is from the Lord and is more directional in nature, make sure to tell them to pray further about it and to seek counsel from their leaders.

• Don’t be too quick to talk with, comfort, or lay hands on people, but instead ask the Holy Spirit for eyes to see what He is doing in their lives.

• When laying hands on people make sure you get their permission (especially if you don’t know   them), and put your hands on their back, shoulder or elbow. Holding their hands or gently laying hands on their forehead is fine if it seems appropriate or permission has been given to you to do so.

• If you sense someone may fall down under the Holy Spirit’s touch, kindly ask someone to catch for you. It may be wise to pray with your eyes opened.

• Ask for help if what is happening or needed is beyond your training and experience (Staff Pastor).

• Remember this is not a counseling session! Pray with them, then point them to some next steps.

• Oil, Kleenex and cloths are available in the stage drawer or under the front row pews.

• Be well groomed and dress neatly and modestly. Breath mints are a must!

• Always represent Jesus as a safe place for people to share their hearts.
