Resources and Books
In addition to our classes and support groups we suggest the
following books, ministries and web sites for those who want
to become more equipped in personal wholeness, marriage and
family life.
Personal
Wholeness and Maturity
I especially appreciate the work of Dr. Henry Cloud. He excels
at integrating biblical truth and the best of contemporary
psychology. His web site is www.drhenrycloud.com.
I would also recommend the good work of Christian psychologist,
Larry Crabb. Check out his maturing ministry at http://www.newwayministries.org/.
A
veteran ministry that has trained thousands of believers to
walk in love is Equipping Ministries International (EMI),
www.equipmin.org.
Church members and leaders all over the world have benefited
greatly from the psycho-educational training materials and
seminars offered by EMI. I consider Dr. Gary Sweeten, founder
of EMI, to be my greatest ministry mentor.

Marriage
and Family Life
I believe there has been no greater champion of Christian
values and family life in our time than Dr. James Dobson,
founder of Focus on the Family. The Focus web site is rich
in resources, www.family.org.
Another wonderful Christian resource for families is FamilyLife,
founded by Dennis and Barbara Rainey, www.familylife.com.
Both of these ministries are comprehensive, offering links
to other ministries they recommend as well.

Christians
in Recovery
We are committed to Belmont Church being a safe and helpful
place for people affected by addiction, abuse and trauma.
Although professional counseling is often needed it is also
essential to have the support and accountability found in
a “twelve step” group. A Christian ministry that
has pioneered in resourcing the body of Christ in this area
is Christian Recovery International, www.christianrecovery.com.
