Our Focus

Our primary focus in Family Life and Counseling is to help Belmont Church members experience and express the love of God in all relationships, especially family life. For this reason we offer ministry and equipping in personal wholeness, marriage and parenting.

Personal Wholeness

Theotherapy Retreats, Personal Growth and Ministry Training (PGMT) Class:
Since 1996 Belmont Church has partnered with Theotherapy Seminars, Inc., to provide ongoing retreats and classes to aid our members seeking to grow to maturity, but who might be stuck in some place of relational wounding. Participants experience new levels of conviction, confession, forgiveness, grief, comfort and, ultimately, a deeper intimacy with the living God. From this new place of intimacy (and love) with God we are able to love ourselves and others as He has intended for us. The intensive PGMT class is open to those who have attended at least one weekend retreat or have otherwise satisfied the introductory requirements for this level of ministry and training.

MARRIAGE
Marriage Training: We regularly offer pre-engagement and pre-marital counsling for Belmont Church couples. Contact the church counseling office to make arrangements. Marriage training classes are also offered regularly. These weekly classes and weekend seminars are led by Belmont pastors and leader couples. Notice of Belmont Church and other recommended marriage training opportunities is posted on our website and listed in the weekend announcement sheet.

PARENTING
We regularly offer parenting classes as part of our Wednesday evening equipping program and occasional Saturday seminars. Classes require some reading and homework to put into practice the biblical principles that are being taught. Classes offered are First Steps in Parenting, Parenting the Elementary-Aged Child, and Parenting Adolescents.
