Orphan Ministries

The purpose of Belmont's adoption and orphan
ministry is based on James 1:27 and is two-fold:
• To provide encouragement, resources, and support
for families considering adoption
• To serve orphans around the world by praying,
giving, and/or going
Adoption Ministry Focus:
Encouragement – All of the families involved in this ministry have either adopted children or are in the process of adopting and desire to encourage other families through the sharing of personal testimonies, prayer, and mentorship.
Resources – A wide array of information on the topic of adoption is available to families, but this information can often be overwhelming and sometimes even misguided. This ministry helps to dispel some of the adoption myths by providing families with key information about the various kinds of adoption.
Support – Belmont adoptive families will have the opportunity to participate in the Adoption 101 Hot Topics class will be offered periodically (this will be a quarterly or bi-yearly event) to assist families in their adoption journey.
Orphan Ministry Focus:
This is a compassion-centered ministry with a vision to help families fulfill God’s plan to care for the world’s orphans. Along with adoption and foster care, Belmont has many opportunities in place to provide care for orphans. Through ongoing mission work and church projects, Belmont members are making connections with orphanages around the world and working with the foster care system here in middle Tennessee in order to minister to orphans.

Ministry VisionBelmont's Orphan & Adoption Ministry was created in response to the cry of the hearts in our church body to help the orphans worldwide. Realizing that there are over 143 million orphans in this world and with a deep passion to end abortion in our land, we know that we as the Bride of Christ we have a Biblical mandate to rise up and care for the orphans in the world. To channel this passion and fulfill this commission, we have created a twofold ministry. To build families through the miracle of adoption and show God's love to the world's orphans. We provide classes to educate our church body on what the Word of God says about adoption we also provide avenues through our Adoption 101 Classes which are offered periodically to assist families in their adoption journey. We send mission trips to share the love of Christ with the orphans and manage projects throughout the year to share our resources and skills to orphans worldwide to improve their quality of life and minister to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
