World Outreach FAQ's

Where do Belmont Church missionaries come from?

The vast majority have come from within the ranks of the church membership. All of the missionaries have spent lengthy times of serving in our midst. Our newest missionaries have all been active leaders of our cell groups. This is where we expect prospective missionaries to begin serving.

What is a "National Partner?"

An indigenous person that is doing mission work among their own people in a targeted area, actively engaged in a good ministry. Some are working with missionaries from Belmont and some the Lord has sovereignly connected to us in other ways.

What is Faith Promise?

Faith Promise is how we support our mission workers and projects. Every year during the Faith Promise campaign we ask our members to spend time before the Lord and ask Him how much He wants to provide through them to bless our missionaries. Then person would fill out the Faith Promise Commitment Card.

Does all of my Faith Promise support money go to my favorite missionaries?
Every missionary receives more money than the amount of money actually given by designations through Faith Promise. We reserve the discretion to prayerfully and carefully dispense the resources according to the reasonable needs of the missionary.

What about giving special gifts of money to my favorite missionaries?
When there are special needs our missionaries are supposed to let us know immediately so that we can help. A successful Faith Promise program has meant that we have funded many special things for the missionaries without having to raise money in extra campaigns or special gifts. Your consistant and regular giving to Faith Promise funds daily operations, special projects and the emergency needs of the missionaries.

What is Belmont’s world outreach focus?
Planting cell-based churches among unreached people groups coupled with strategic discipling activities among the unreached as well. We are also focusing on building within Belmont the reality of Great Commission thinking and acting Christians.

What do if I want to go on a short-term mission trip or join YWAM?
Look at the Short-term Mission page here to understand our policies and to find trip opportunities. Please contact
the World Outreach Office so we can advise and help you.

How do I get started in missions at Belmont?

We have a number of things that we think are extremely important for everyone who wants to be involved in missions. This is a great check-off list for you to start working on (one thing at a time, not all at once or you will burn out):

  • Join Belmont Church as a member
  • Be an active part of one of our cells
  • Participate in our adult education opportunities
  • Participate in our Isaiah 58 ministries to the poor
  • Give to Faith Promise
  • Pray for our missionaries and for the persecuted church around the world
  • Be part of a short-term missions team sponsored by Belmont Church
  • Get to know our missionaries when they come to visit us
  • Participate in our international student ministry
  • Work as a volunteer in Siloam Family Heath Center’s ministry to internationals and the poor
  • Attend the “Perspectives” course on World Missions
  • Come and visit us in the World Outreach office—but be careful, we may put you to work!

How do I get on a long-term missionary path with Belmont?

After you have tackled the above list and you want to actually pursue the idea of spending some longer time overseas in missions yourself, then there are some things we recommend to you:

  • Close consultations with our office
  • Language study
  • World Religions study
  • Specialty readings/classes/seminars
  • Becoming very proficient and competent in your occupation and in your talents and abilities
  • Taking some ministry leadership responsibilities here at Belmont
  • Additional cross-cultural and short- to mid-term missions experiences
  • Apprenticing with one or our experienced missionaries on the field
If you are willing to take these assignments on and you still have a smile on your face and a song in your heart, then you become a great candidate to walk in a longer-term missionary path with Belmont
