APOLOGETICS

Apologetics (from Greek ἀπολογία, "speaking in defense") is the religious discipline of defending religious doctrines through systematic argumentation and discourse.

Apologetics 2026

Beginning Wednesday, January 14, 2026, 6:30-8PM, Living Room.

There are 66 books in the bible. Why were these books chosen to be included in the bible? Who chose them to be included? What makes these writings authoritative? Why aren’t other historical writings included in the scriptural canon?

Having discussed last Fall why we believe the bible to be authentic, we will continue into 2026, comparing the bible with other religious texts such as the Quran and The Book of Mormon.

In Our House...

At Belmont Church, we examine the Christian faith with thoughtful discussion in a safe and honoring environment where space is provided to ask the tough questions.

Non Negotiables...

Yes, there are non negotiables of the Christian faith. There are also personal preferences that shape our faith. We explore both!

Our hope...

It is our hope that through Apologetics, we all grow in understanding each other and better understanding what the Bible says so we can all be more like Jesus.
